A sunroom, one of Segalla's additions, opens off the kitchen and onto the front patio. From the front of the house, the sunroom was designed to match the schoolhouse in style. The pitch of the roof and shape of the addition are similar to the schoolhouse but smaller.
Outside, in addition to the Zen garden, there is a pond filled with water lilies and a waterfall. Segalla built three bridges across the stream leading to the pond. The largest bridge, built on locust logs from the property, holds a bench so that you might sit and meditate.
A second bridge, near the waterfalls, leads to a bench where you can sit and listen to the sound of the water falling. The swimming pool area, fully fenced, contains a screened gazebo where young children might play or adults can sit and watch the children in the pool. Between the pool and the greenhouse, not presently being used, there is a garden with five paths in the woods. There too is a bench for sitting and meditating.
