only Helen Dixon spoke in opposition to the application. She expressed her concern in writing and in person about the lack of visibility at the entrance to the property that; could and has resulted, she said, in accidents; to problems with the water supply and septic system ;about the age and safety of the building; about the problem of noise during Saturday night "Youth Alive" events; and she asked about rest room requirements, and outdoor lighting, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning issues.
Gene Nicholson, speaking in favor of the application, noted that the proposed use would be temporary and that the church was already seeking a permanent facility. He also said that they had spoken to VDOT about the visibility problem, and that VDOT was engaged in the process of reducing the speed limit in the vicinity.
After brief discussions, the Board unanimously approved the application.
