They read a Bible that taught them of a God who desired to set them free and were inspired by those teachings to shed the yoke imposed on them by the heads of State and Church in Europe.
A tree is judged by its fruit. The fruit of Chinese philosophy is a nation oppressed and impoverished, whose people suffer under the yoke of bondage of an absolute dictatorship in a Communist regime. Chinese philosophy may be appropriate for determining who would be the best fighting cock, or who would be the best ruler of China. I, for one, am not looking for the "best man" to rule over me.
I am looking for any man who will be led by conscience to reduce the burden of government and espouse the principles of individual rights and liberties. My vote continues to be for freedom.
