A ground breaking ceremony was held at the county library's new site outside Washington and marks the home stretch for the project. In addition to the members of the Library's Board of Trustees and the Friends of the Library, "many other people have been involved but were unable to attend the ceremony" according to Librarian Diane Green. At least some of the members of last year’s RCHS Alumni Basketball Tournament champion team will return next weekend to defend their title. They include Danny Ellis, Mike Payne, Godfrey Freeman, Anthony Porter, Gary Settle, Butch Foster, Wayne Foster, Jeff Porter and Gary Settle. Amissville United Methodist Church welcomes a new face, but a familiar name, to its pulpit. Pastor Peter Weems has returned to Rappahannock to deliver the weekly Sunday message as minister of the Amissville United Methodist Church. The name may sound familiar to Rappahannock churchgoers as this is Pastor Weems' second visit to the county. In 1979, Sperryville, Flint Hill and Willis Chapel welcomed the eager and energetic pastor, fresh from seminary.
