My mailbox was full of one letter this week, from a regular correspondent who lives in Piedmont County, a good ways south of here.

Well, the neighbors in Corner are buzzin' this week. (Comer is the village near me; we only have the one comer.) A Mr. Spritz has put in an application to build a bunch of big ugly towers here in the county, so folks can talk on the phone while they drive down the highway. Grannu Jenkins sez they oughta pay more attention to their drivin’, and enjoy the scenery. ■ The boys were talkin' about it yesterday down at the Comer Cafe. George Hatcher, who retired from a big government job in the city a few years ago and bought a farm out here, sez they have the right to do it.
