The ladies served meals, sandwiches and drinks to all the firemen who came by the firehouse. They served each day from 11 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. When the firemen were called to stand-by on Route 681, they carried the food and drinks there for all the loc^l firemen, as well as others on stand-by.
We thank our local community as well as Culpeper, Luray, Front Royal and Charlottesville who sent food and drinks. The coffee stayed hot all day for the cold weary firemen who came by,and they never left without saying "thank you."
This has been a devastating fire, especially when it came so close to so many homes. The smoke affected so many people as well.
This will be remembered by many as a time when everyone worked together for the good of us all. Our thanks to all of you.
