Dappled
Shadows
Here 1 ponder autumn's missive:
The dappled shade announces their presence from golden trees silently resting.
Their shadows casting kisses on the leaves.
Still warm breezes caress their limbs and rustle their crimson's last goodbye, each murmured shuffle a wave farewell against an azure-bright blue sky.
Times's gifted glow from autum’s mystery will bring the end of the Maple's green; it seems to all the end has come but their death will be a memory in the spring,
The lawn is a reservoir of golden basking leaves turning mundane to blaze and pumpkins wear the leaves in mock dispair while squirels sit in the sun and slowly preen.
The shadows play with gentle puffs of air that waft and swirl the leaves to twirl, their dance of joy exhumed from gilded fallen yesterdays.
