Mr. Henry was born June 16, 1927 in Hamburg, son of the late Clarence A and Florence Painter Henry.

He was a barber in Mt. Jackson for 26 years and after retirement farmed and worked part-time at Henry's Guns R Us in Mt. Jackson.

He was a member of Mt. Jackson United Methodist Church, Shenandoah Lodge 82, IOOF of Edinburg and a founding member of Mt. Jackson Moose Lodge 979.

Surviving are his wife, Doris McKenzie Henry; two sons, Alvin F. Henry Jr. of Washington and Patrick D. Henry of Mt. Jackson; a daughter, Bonnie L. Henry of Mt. Jackson; a brother, Charles A. Henry of Williamsburg and four grandchildren.
