The 2001 Dodge Neon R/T has a high-output 2.0-liter SOHC 16-valve in-line four-cylinder Magnum engine. The R/T teams this engine with a fivespeed manual transmission that kicks out 150 horsepower.
Tony Zeithammel is a two-time Neon owner. "I leased the first one in '95, it's a neat little car," said Zeithammel, who ended up leasing another Neon this past spring.
"I had been using it as a commuter car, logging some 53 miles a day roundtrip," continued Zeithammel whb then gave the car to his daughter to use at college. He averaged around 25 miles a gallon and, except for routine maintenance, had no trouble with it.
"It's dependable, gets good gas mileage, is economical, fun to drive and very easy to get into parking spaces," laughed Zeithammel.
The Dodge Neort sells for $14,000. "It's a good little car," said Hunt, who added that his dealership has been selling about 100 Neons a year.
