Gwen Johnson, junior forward on the RCHS Girls' Varsity Basketball team, was selected for the Bull Run District's first team by the District coaches this past week. All the coaches met at Brentsville to select the first team and second team players.
According to RCHS Coach Dayton, "All the coaches agreed that Gwen was the most explosive athlete on the court this year. She came out fourth in the overall voting and it wasn't hard convincing others that she deserved to be on the first team. She had a terrific year, averaging over 11 points per game. If she works hard between now and next summer, when the season begins again, I think she is definitely a candidate for next year's District Player of the Year."
