The RCHS Panther football team finished their last game of the season at Manassas Park, losing 61 to 0. This final defeat put the cap on a difficult 0-10 season, in which the Panthers had to face football teams that were far more experienced from schools double and triple the size of RCHS. Still, Coach Kemp Pullen praised his team’s resilience. “We started with thirty players and finished with thirty players. I bet there’s not thirty kids in any other school who would get beat like that every week and keep coming back. They didn’t quit. They must love the game,” said Pullen. According to Coach Pullen, the only cure for the Panther’s woes is time. “It’s going to take years. Give it time, it’ll get better,” assured Pullen.
According to the coach, as Rappahannock County becomes more exposed to high school football, the' Panthers will improve. Players will appreciate the work ethic required to be competitive, and younger kids will seek out opportunities to play Pop Warner and rec league football.
