With part time helpers Susan Benner, Alicia Vanegas and Dawn Fry, McKenry has the time to make frequent changes to the Copper Fox. Customers can often find her moving furniture and antiques and constantly reorganizing the layout throughout the day.
The displays in Copper Fox include a wide variety of antiques, from 18th century items to general use modem furniture, such as bedroom suits and lamps, old trunks, and much more.
Discerning shoppers can find selections of exclusive and affordable dishes, bowls and beautiful glassware. Many of the interesting and unique items at Copper Fox are particularly attractive to collectors.
“I see my shop as a fun place to shop, and I love to make people happy,” explained Mckenry.
She keeps the store in touch with Rappahannock County by carrying a large selection of local consignments. Half of her merchandise is on consignment and from the Rappahannock area. However, Mckenry does limit her consignments to furniture.
Aside from the consignments, much of Copper Fox’s merchandise is found by Mckenry at yard sales and auctions around Virginia.
