The Patuxent Wildlife Research Center has a wonderful bird identification website where there are lists of photos and videos of hundreds of birds. They also list many bird songs and calls at http://www.mbrpwrc.usgs.gov/bbs/song.html.

Try clicking on the song of the white-throated sparrow and we’re sure you’ll recognize this song.

It turns out songs are quite variable from one individual to another and sung repeatedly as if to get a particular version into the permanent sparrow record. We haven’t paid close attention to this, but we plan to .see if we can tell individuals apart using the songs.
