Fred’s cute face is on the label which touts the cider as being “pressed from a carefully selected blend of fresh Virginia apples. The varieties are chosen to create a balance of natural sweetness, astringency and aroma. The sweet cider is fermented in small batches with great care to preserve the delicate bouquet of the fruit.” Fred is also the model for T-Shirts and hats to promote the business.
The cidery operates like a winery, and employs John Hallberg as the master cider maker. He previously worked at a brewery in Richmond and another one in Northern Virginia.
