“Johnny was a teacher.” That is how John Jenkins of Sperryville described his son, John Ronald Jenkins, Jr., who passed away in the afternoon of November 10, 2005. “School was important to Johnny,” said John Sr. “He was a teacher. He taught the kids more than they ever dreamed of.”
“He touched everyone he met in one way or another,” added Johnny’s mother Michelle Jenkins.
Indeed, that seems to be the incredible main lesson of Johnny’s life—that a person can have so much to teach, and have so much positive influence on the people around him, without ever speaking a word. How could this be?
