We’ve come full circle with this column. Our first effort back in January featured the tiny kinglets who migrate into the county in the late fall and stay all winter to the delight of all us bird lovers. Nature is nothing if not cyclic and the natural wonders of any season can be anticipated and enjoyed every year at the appropriate times.
Right on schedule, winter migrants are back in the county again.
So we welcome the kinglets and other birds that have been spending summer months in the northern U.S. and Canada: slate-colored juncos, white-throated sparrows, white-crowned sparrows, purple finches, pine siskins and red-breasted nuthatches.
