WCDS Cross Country standout Kevin Riedel of Washington, Va finished 63rd out of nearly 200 entrants in the Virginia Independent Schools Division II race held last Friday at Woodberry Forest School in Orange. Riedel qualified for the race after finishing 8th at the DAC championships on October 28.
WCDS varsity basketball teams competed in the RMA tip-off tournament in Front Royal over the weekend. The WCDS girls defeated Wakefield School 39-31 in the opening round before falling in the final round to the Yellow Jackets 3617. In the boys division, WCDS lost a 63-36 decision to RMA on Friday. In the consolation finals on Saturday the Owls won 40-31.
