Ki Theatre, Rappahannock’s own “little theatre,” begins its 2005-2006 season with a host of exceptional events, including music, theatre, and its always sold-out series called “Soup and Soul.” All Ki Theatre programs are open to the public. Because of space limitations, however, seating at these popular programs requires advance reservations, especially for the “Soup and Soul” presentations held in private homes early next year.
“Community Sing”
with Ysaye Barnwell
In what surely will be an inspiring, hand-clapping, foot-tapping musical experience, Ysaye Barnwell will lead an old fashion “community sing” at the Ki Theatre on Saturday, November 26.
“Ysaye,” as she is affectionately known, has been entertaining audiences of music lovers around the world for nearly three decades and is the longest-performing singer in the wellknown Grammy-Award winning female a cappella group, “Sweet Honey in the Rock.” Its repertoire has its deep musical roots in the sacred music of black • churches—spirituals, hymns, gospel - as well as jazz and blues.
