Bob Dennis, chairman of the Board of Assessors has been criticized by Planning Commission member Alvin Henry for a letter he wrote to the Rappahannock News. In that letter Dennis stated “the Board of Assessors and Blue Ridge’s Mike Didawick have been spotchecking field work done by the paid staff. We have paid particular attention to assessments of properties owned by members of the Board of Supervisors, the Planning Commission, the Board of Assessors, and other County officials”.

After the letter appeared, Henry called county officials and told the Rappahannock News, “I’ve been an appraiser for twenty-five years, and I’ve never heard of anything like this. ... For him to arbitrarily pick out a group take's away oui rights before that board.... No elected official has any right to appeal. ... I shouldn’t receive
