Back across Washington Street is Creme de la Creme, selling pottery and other items imported from Europe, and then there’s A Little Something From Middleburg, which lives up to its name in its selection of inventory. At the corner of Madison and Washington is Home Farm, a butcher shop featuring organic meat that includes an old-fashioned soda fountain upstairs.
Crossing over Madison and moving west on Washington, one finds The Byrne Gallery, with an ever-changing group of paintings and sculptures that are guaranteed to dazzle the eye. Farther down the block is The Fun Shop, with its wideranging variety of inventory that’s just... fun.
Across the street is the Irish Connection, with gifts and goodies from Ireland. Nearby is The Upper Crust, Middleburg’s favorite bakery.
Still farther down Washington Street is Market Salamander, specializing in food, wine and chefprepared lunches and dinners. Across the side street and directly behind Maxwell’s Cafe is the high-fashion shop of Wendy Pepper, whose fashion designs can surely fit any holiday party needs.
Middleburg is a small place, located on the border of Fauquier and Loudoun counties, but when it comes to interesting places to shop, it can hold its own with just about anywhere, especially during the holiday season.
