After a lengthy court battle, Judge Jeffrey Parker of the 20th Circuit Court reversed the July decision of the Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals to deny a zoning variance to the Amissville Fire and Rescue Company (AVFRC).
The variance allowed by the decision will change the zoning of property owned by the Amissville Fire and Rescue Company allowing it to be sold as a potential residential property.
Judge Parker’s decision does not automatically grant the variance to the AVFRC, but compels the BZA to grant the variance when the fire company or whoever buys the parcel of land from them submits an application with a specific building plan.
