of the Chamber Music Program at the National Museum of American History, has invited two additional viola da gamba players to join in the concert. Catharina Meints has a distinguished career playing both the viola da gamba and the cello. She has been a member of the Cleveland Orchestra since 1971, and before that was with the National Symphony. With her late husband, James B. Caldwell, she was cofounder of the Baroque Performance Institute at Oberlin in 1972. Meints and Slowik will be playing on two of the very rare 18th century French violas da gamba which form part of the Caldwell Collection, one of the largest private collections of antique viols in the world. For one suite, they will be joined by Loren Ludwig, a musicology student at the University of Virginia.
Tickets for the concert at the Theatre on Saturday, March 18 at 8 p.m. are $20 for adults and $5 for students 18 and under.
