The SperryviDe Volunteer Rescue Squad’s Annual Miss Rappahannock Pageant will be held on Saturday, April 29.

Sherri Woodward, the reigning Miss Rappahannock 2005, will crown her successor at the Rappahannock County Elementary School auditorium. Registration will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, at the school with rehearsal beginning promptly at 2:30 p.m. This is the major fund raising activity for the SperryviDe Volunteer Rescue Squad. Last year’s event was attended by more than 600 residents of the county.

The pageant is open to all single females who reside or attend schools in Rappahannock County in the foUowing categories: Baby Miss (ages newborn to 23 months), Tiny Tbt (ages 2 to 4), Wee Miss (ages 5 to 7), Little Miss (ages 8 to 11), Junior Miss (ages 12 tol5), and Miss Rappahannock (ages 16 tol9). There wiD be additional categories for aD ages which wiD include Sisters, Friends, and Mother/ Daughter. There wiD also be a Little Mister category for boys (ages 2 to 6).

AD judges wiD be non- residents of Rappahannock County. Judges decisions are final.

Each contestant is responsible for getting a sponsor which may be personal or a business. The fee is $35, and must be paid at the registration. Late entries wiD not be accepted. Parent’s signatures are required on all entries.

The award for Miss Rappahannock 2006 wiD be a cash prize of $100, a dozen roses, and a dinner for two at a local restaurant. A tiara, sash, and trophy will be given to aD first place winners, with first and second runners-up receiving a trophy. AD remaining participants wiD receive participation (memory/keepsake) trophy.

Admission to the Pageant starting at 5 p.m. on April 29 wiD be $5 for aD adults and $3 for aD children under 10 who are not participating in the pageant.
