I am certainly not advocating letting kids roam school hallways armed, but I do think something other than the present paranoid, repressive attitude is called for. I have heard of grade school kids suspended for pointing a finger at someone and saying “pow pow.” Adults of my generation find something like that outrageous, we all played cowboy games. And to my knowledge no one I attended school with in Rappahannock turned out to be serial murderer!
