of Wales Celebration
We’re not an Irish pub, so why celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Come to Griffin Tavern and celebrate Black Prince of Wales Day! We will be decorating in black, the color Prince Edward chose to wear to battle, so you should wear black instead of green! Come and celebrate the day Prince Edward became the first ever English Duke, with food and drink specials and music by Robbie Limon. It’s gonna be a party!

The Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community will present “Pride and Prejudice” at The Theatre on Gay Street starting at 8 p.m.

at Little Washington
The Theatre at Little Washington will present Kenneth Slowik, viola da gamba, James Weaver, harpsichord, and Lucas Harris, theorbo in a concert celebrating 17th century French baroque composer Marin Marais. Concert begins at 8 p.m. For ticket information, phone 675-1253.

March 18: Chili Bowl fund-raiser
The Piedmont Softball Association is hosting its Fourth Annual Chili Bowl on Saturday, March 18 at the Bill Payne Auction Gallery in Amissville from 3-7 p.m., benefiting girls’ softball. Admission is $6 for adults. Children six years and under are free. Hot dogs will be on sale for non-chili fans, whoever they may be. Also, the talented Hair Cuttery girls, featuring Kim Nelson will be available for $5 hair cuts, half twists, ect. Tb complete this event, periodic cake walks, 50/50’s door prizes and bake sales will add to the evening’s excitement. Come out and support the Rappahannock County School Sports Association on Saturday, March 18 starting at 6 p.m. with this unique fundraiser. Held at CCLC Old School House in Washington there will be actual horse races shown and narrated with all the suspense and action that you’d experience at a real race track. You must be 21-years-of-age or older to attend. Pre-purchase tickets at $25.00 per person. Cash bar available throughout the evening. Door prizes, food and more. The monthly meeting of RLEP will be held on the first day of Spring, March 20, at 7 p.m. at the Library. The business meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Agenda items include updates on the Alternate Energy Exposition, the Rush River Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the RLEP bylaws.

Presentation Workshop
Joan Proctor offer a Presentation Workshop for Rappahannock 4-H members. Joan teaches youth how to calm their nerves when speaking in public as well as how best to stand, how to create posters and other materials to go along with the presentation, and helps determine the best wording for presentations.
