My time here has come tc an end. I am moving to a tropical island, to begin a life of laying in hammocks, eating tropical fruit from the hands of island women and playing the ukulele.
Well, I’m moving to a tropical island anyway. But like that flamboyant general, I shall return. Rappahannock has been my home for the last decade and I’ve grown roots here. I’ll miss these hills and these people.
To the many folks here who have told me they like my work here, I cannot thank you enough. You. have nurtured my soul and kept my boss from firing me. And to those who have criticized or found fault with my work: Goodbye.
I want to thank Anita Sherman for her patient, tolerant support, guidance, humor and friendship. Jan Clatterbuck fbr putting up with my sloppiness, for making me a cake for my birthday and for supplying so many, many sweets ana candies to go with all the bad coffee.
