I called the legal support desk at SBA. The only “wiggle room” they would allow me was in the section that deals with “Notice of Right to Cancel”. This section mandates my acceptance or denial of the loan within three days. That’s 72 hours to digest all of the documents. Although that is what the legal document says, the SBA legal staffer told that I could decline the loan at any time before receipt of the funds.
This same staffer told me that, in direct opposition to what a FEMA agent told me back in September, since I have now been approved for the SBA loan, I am no longer eligible for any FEMA funds. At some point or points they have changed the rules and did not tell me.
