University teacher, Geri Smith who commented that Lawler’s self portrait was technically well executed, as well as emotionally engaging, allowing the viewer to really come to know the artist through her use of humor.
Smith also commented, “When I viewed this portrait, I said to myself, this is someone I would like to have lunch with and share a glass of wine with.”
The painting will remain on display until March 29 at the Montpelier Arts Center and can also be viewed at www.lindalawlerart.com.
