A busy summer
Wakefield Country Day School continues to bustle with activity during the summer.
Students are enjoying a variety of camps and con- i struction work is underway. Camps began with the aptly 1 named “Summer Fun” for children in preschool, i prekindergarten and kinder- i garten.
For two weeks, a dozen i youngsters had summer fun < by making funny putty, batik < T-shirts, ice cream in a bag, i Japanese fish movies, mosaic boxes, Aztec sun gods from i their own clay, pinwheels, i vegetable soup and their own < bubble mix and blowers. They \ played spray bottle tag, baked ' their own bread sculptures i and made a popular drink 1 from Africa, almond milk. Ah, 1 to be so young and carefree!
Aubree Parker, a soccer star at WCDS and now at \ Randolph Macon College, ran * our first soccer camp for 18 » boys and girls. She taught the \ younger children the basics of i soccer with improvement f drills for skill development in i offensive and defensive ) moves. The older group 1 refined these skills at a more « advanced level.
