Lamp me begins early, sometime between the hours of 0500 and 0645, depending on the coming day’s planned activity. After preparing for site inspection, the troop would take the 10-minute walk to the parade field for assembly and the raising of the colors, followed shortly by the blessing

in the dining halL By popular demand it was decided that the quadrant yelling loudest received seconds first. By organizing their quadrant to yell “Q-2" instead of individual troop numbers, Troop 36 and the remainder of their quadrant were blessed to receive all the pancakes, pork barbecue, and sloppy joes they desired Life’s simple pleasures are made known at camp.

Days were filled with merit badge sessions, meals, games, songs, cheers and competitions. One of these, and new this year, was the “Staff Infiltration” held at dusk, in which staff members would attempt to sneak past Scouts into a perimeter surrounding the dining hall. Many of the staff proved to be wily and inventive opponents, resorting to disguise, the use of props and eliciting the help of Scoutmasters, in their attempts to pass unidentified through the hoards of Scouts guarding the ground about the perimeter.

The game took on another dimension when Scouts started posing as staff members, subjecting themselves to interrogation and thereby further confusing their own ranks. The and a hot b entire camp
