“We can’t help them if we don’t know,” Williams said. He added that the sheriff's office will place personnel at certain locations during a targeted portion of the day if speeding is a problem at one specific time.
“We can’t be everywhere at all times, [but] we will assign directed patrol during certain times,” Williams said.
Archaeological
survey
The council also accepted a proposal from Cultural Resources Inc. to perform an archaeological survey of the site near Avon Hall where the town’s new wastewater treatment plant is proposed to be built. The procedure is required by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources.
The survey will seek to identify any significant historic or prehistoric artifacts on the four-acre site.
