Jason Jenkins of the Town of Washington was recently recognised as a scholar Athlete at Christopher Newport University in Newport News. Jason was awarded the academic scholar award for the fall and the spring. All athletes must obtain a GPA of 3.2 or higher. He was also named to the USA Smith Conference AllAcademic team for 20062007. Jason is a pitcher for the Christopher Newport Captains. He is the son of Jeff and Rhonda Jenkins.
