Based on everyday experiences like a heart-warming relationship with his dog, Hopkins has woven clever lyrics and toe-tapping rhythm into a charming song. And with his pleasant voice he has come up with a winner in his endearing song, “The Dog Don’t Know Sit” about a beloved mutt he adopted at the Amissville pound. Although described in his song as the most loving dog in the world, he concedes that “the dog won’t hunt, won’t pay him any mind, won’t fetch, won’t stay .. . [and, painful to admit] he don’t know sit.”
