Don’t expect to light up during a football game or step outside for a smoke at halftime during this year’s Rappahannock sporting season.
The Rappahannock County School Board voted last month to ban members of the public from smoking on school property, effective on July 1.
The new law was adopted in addition to the School’s current policy prohibiting use of tobacco on premises by students and staff during the school day and for school events after school.
RCHS Superintendent Dr. Robert Chappell noted that each principal was responsible for posting signs to inform people of the new law.
