Although a new face in Rappahannock County, Greer has recently moved from North Carolina to serve as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Instruction.
Greer says she was attracted to Rappahannock County because of its rural landscape and historic character. Already retired from a 30-year career in education in North Carolina, she applied to Rappahannock after she saw the position open online.
"I was looking to be a Virginia education consultant,” Greer said. "But when I saw this position in Rappahannock County, I was immediately interested.”
The more she found out about the county the more she was certain that she wanted the job.
"When I came, I loved it,” she said. "I guess it was meant to be.”
