Keliel from this trend was found in the presentation of the troop’s skit at the closing campfire ceremony. Waldo, a popular Field Sports merit badge counselor, received this nickname due to his rather lanky physique, resembling that of the main character in the “Where is Waldo?" series. Troop 36 leveraged Waldo’s desire to appear in a skit to develop a theme. Introduced in the presentation by Buster Brown, with the line, “Not Where is Waldo, but Who is Waldo,” the skit took on the dimension of ninja and other martial battles among characters dressed in black or white costumes sporting horizontal red stripes.
Among all the mayhem, Waldo calmly appears. The skit was a hit, receiving a very rare standing ovation from the attending Scouts, Scouters, Staff and families
