Some familiar faces are returning to Main Street in Sperryville.
In early July, Realtors Martin and Cheri Woodard opened a new real estate office m the Thornton River House.
The couple left the Frank Hardy Inc. Realtors office in the Town of Washington to pursue the venture. The new office is associated with the Roy Wheeler Realty Co., which is based in Charlotteseville.
In many ways, the move brings the longtime Rappahannock County residents full circle.
The Thornton River House, which the Woodards own and includes other office tenants, was Chen’s first real estate deal when she entered the industry in 2002.
The historic building was in a sorry state when the couple purchased it, but it has been fully restored.
"Since we renovated it, we haven’t been in it much, so we’re enjoying being here,” ,^'Chafi said.
Roy Wheeler was also the first realty company Cheri worked for when she began her real estate career five years ago. She spent the past four years in the Frank Hardy office.
For several years, Wheeler had an office in Flint Hill, but it closed a couple years ago. The company wanted to regain a presence in Rappahannock and the Woodards were a perfect fit.
Martin and Cheri had only good things to say about their experience with Frank Hardy. The split was amicable, they said, and there are no hard feelings.
“Our move was simply another opportunity for us to run our own show,” Cheri said.
