Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) President John J. “Ski* Sygielski stopped in Washington last Wednesday as part of his bicycle trip around the region.
An avid bicyclist, Sygielski is using some of bus vacation time to ride throughout the region to meet county »nd city government officials, the leadership of local public school systems and college donors to present them with gift bags in a sincere “thank you” for their support.
“I thought this activity would allow me an opportunity to tour the area, learn more about the geography of our service region and thank some of the people who ‘invest’ in LFCC to make it the very special place it is,” Sygielski said about his trip. “I want to recognize our county administrators, school superintendents and donors for all of their support to LFCC*
Sygielski said that he was riding approximately 250 miles in four days, stopping at the city manager and county administrators’ office buildings in the counties of Clarke, Fauquier, Frederick, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah and Warren and the City of Winchester.
According to Sygielski, “all roads lead to LFCC.” To reinforce this idea Sygielski was giving away a bicycle at each stop to one lucky individual who is present.
