Mark your calendar for the evening of Saturday, September 8, for Headwaters’ 10th Anniversary Taste of Rappahannock to raise money for the many programs that benefit the students of Rappahannock County. The evening features a sampling of the finest foods and wines of the county and the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind prizes and experiences through both a live and a silent auction. Sept. 9: A Revolutionary

The Rappahannock Historical Society will be hosting its Annual Meeting and fund raiser at Montpelier, which was the stately, colonial home of the Thornton family of Rappahannock County. Built circa 1746, this historic treasure has a wealth of history attached to it dating from the Colonial Period of our County. Please join us for a glimpse of the past complete with tours of the mansion, living history demonstrations and music, raffles and a variety of tasty finger foods. This event will be held on September 9, from 1 p. m. to 5 p. m. Tickets will go on sale on August 2 at the Rappahannock Historical Society at 328 Gay St. or by mail PO Box 261, Washington, Va. The Society is open on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 11 a. m. to 5p. m. Prices are Adults - $25 in advance ($30 at the door); $10 - Children 6-12.
