As part of its August exhibition, Photographic Visions - Images from the Middle Street Gallery, the gallery will conduct an informal workshop on photographic techniques on , Saturday, August 11 from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. Exhibiting photographers Jo Levine of Sperryville and Washington, D.C. and Gary Arrthes of Castleton and Arlington will be on hand to offer tips from their years of experience and to critique your photographs and answer your questions about photography. At 1:30, Anthes will give an informal talk about field techniques in photography - “rules” of composition, lighting and how to find the right “photo ops” at the right time. At 2:30, Levine will tafc about going beyond your camera’s fully automatic mode, factors unique to digital photography, and about equipment that can enhance your photography. The workshop is free and open to the public; drop in any time. Bring your questions and your photographs for critiquing by these accomplished artists.
