Cathem Smith said Monday that she and her husband had lined up a renter to run a restaurant in the former Cooter’s Place building. They had renovated the structure and were hoping the vintage cars would be another draw to the eatery.
But that deal fell through when the potential restaurateur and the Smiths found out that they would not be able to stock very many cars or display them outside.
Now the Smiths are trying to •find another renter for the restaurant building and entertaining offers to sell the 3-acre riverfront property.
