the partnership promotes collaboration to create and enhance supports for older persons delivered through various partner organizations. Among the many results cited in the nomination are: a grant from the Virginia Healthcare Foundation to implement a prescription assistance program for seniors, funds from a variety of sources to open a regional Adult Daycare Center in Culpeper, collaboration with both community colleges to expand training for long term care staff and expanded volunteer sites and opportunities.
“This award is only given when local social services agencies want to recognize extraordinary collaboration from the community. It is a great opportunity to tell others how so much can be accomplished when everyone works together. The award was presented by the local Social Services Directors at the July 7 meeting of Aging Together’s Core Leadership Group. “I am delighted and honored to accept this award on behalf of the dedicated partners and the project staff that make our efforts successful,’ said Sallie Morgan, Project Director for Aging Together.
