Rapidan pony places ninth at Worlds
Facing stiff competition from nine other nations ip the World Driving Championships, the American driving team took home the bronze medal in the team competition with individual gold going to U.S. driver Miranda Cadwell for the pairs division in the 2007 FEI World Combined Pony Driving Championships July 18-22 in Knabstrup, Denmark.
Team gold medal was won by Germany. Team silver went to Holland.
Locally-owned Cefiioakpark Bouncer placed ninth in single driving with Suzy Stafford on the reins for owners Wayne and Sybil Humphreys of Rapidan. Powhatan-based Rochelle Temple placed 10th.
After some intense cone driving with her ponies, Cadwell 31 claimed victory in the pairs class by .72 points to take home the gold. Silver medal went to Germany’s Steffen Abicht, bronze to Denmark’s Lars Dau.
