- Instead, it is critically important for all Virginia citizens that our government agencies require a full and thorough scientific assessment of this power line proposal’s impact on public health, the environment and our ability to meet national air quality standards,
- Why would Virginia want to act in support of an ongoing, harmful flow of excessive amounts of air pollutants from the outdated Ohio plants'?
- Does Virginia want to support the continued pollution air as a result of this proposal - air that no one should breathe and at-risk people should fear?
- Do we want to stay indoors for days on end to ensure the safety of our health during a growing number of bad air alerts?
- The pollution from Ohio power plants - which are now failing to generate sufficient income (as I said earlier) in their current local marketplace — should not be allowed to spew its poisons continuously over our land for greater corporate profit.
- I urge the VA State Corporation Commission to consider this proposal’s potential for further poisoning the air we breathe seriously, by reviewing the scientific data that is available about existing pollutant levels associated with these plants and their continued impact on our air as a result of this new power line proposal.
