Benefit chair Nancy Moon Smith hailed what she called a “continuum” between the professional and student art community. In an interview to announce the art show and auction, Ms. Smith said, “The budding Wakefield artists take inspiration from the more accomplished artists and the example that they set for the students ” The funds raised through the Art from the Heart benefit not only enhance the school’s fine arts program, but also help bring to the public’s attention the tuition assistance program at Wakefield which, this year, will receive nearly $160,000 in scholarships and financial aid.
The dedication that drives the art curriculum is impressive and includes various approaches to teaching art to students.
