Another option for Rappahannock residents interested in continuing education is Germanna Community College’s new Daniel Technology Center in Culpeper.
The Daniel Center, which complements Gennanna’s Fredericksburg and Locust Grove campuses, opened in August 2006. Its focus is primarily on technological training. such as computer and maintenance technology courses. Manufacturing technology classes are also offered, which are intended to prepare students for jobs in area manufacturing plants. Approximately 600 students enrolled in classes at the Daniel Center last year.
“Mostly it was opened to meet the training needs or the job needs of Culpeper, Madison and Orange counties,” said Russell James, director of the center.
But a wide variety of classes can suit a number of different tastes.
The Daniel Center has offered classes on cake decorating, landscaping, cooking, tai chi, photography, local architecture and quilt making, just to name a few.
