businesses may; with prior written approval of the school’s principal, donate gifts to Rappahannock public schools. Gifts may be monetary or non-cash donations. Donation forms are available in each school office. All gifts become the property of the schools. Donations in this category are not considered “fund-raising,” which would involve asking others for donations to the schools.
School-related booster organizations — like Headwaters, the Rappahannock County School Sports Association and the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) — may raise funds on behalf of the schools. Headwaters Executive Director Cole Johnson (987-3322) and RCSSA President Rich Hogan (9878575) can provide the names of people authorized to raise funds for those organizations. There is a form for school-related booster groups that is available in the principals’ offices and at the School Board Office. The RCSSA is authorized to raise funds for all school sports programs grades 5-12. Headwaters raises funds for a variety of school programs. The PTO raises funds for Rappahannock County Elementary School.
