Photo by Lift Duval My name is Smoky and I come from a tong line of Elkhounds, a proud and distinguished breed that goes back at least 6000 years. To some folks I seem a bit shy, but that is only until I get to know you. I am very warm and cuddly, love to feel your hands on me. I am only 2-years-old, and am getting along very well here at the shelter. I like all the other dogs, and the people, too. Come and look me over and then take me home. Then we can go out and hunt for moose, which is what my breed has been doing all those millennia.
