Rappahannock County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Bob Chappell recommended that the day not be made up, and the school board approved the suggestion at its meeting earlier this month.
“I’m not going to recommend that we go to school on Saturdays or extend the school year into the summer any further...,” Chappell said in a phone interview.
