Chappell said that the schools will still meet the 990 instruction hours required by the state.
“We easily exceed the 990 so we’re not in danger of coming close on that,” he said.
He said that the lost time has not put classes significantly behind.
“I don’t want to say that the day didn’t matter,” Chappell said. “In my judgment, one day over the course of the school year is not going to put us behind.”
